Neutron STEM Lab is published by Neutron Studios LLC. These terms govern your use of the website and the browser-based engineering and science tools it hosts. Using the site means you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the site.

What the site is

The site provides interactive calculators, simulators, and reference material for education, study, coursework, and preliminary design exploration. Every tool publishes the equations it applies, the assumptions built into those equations, and the boundaries beyond which its model stops being valid. That published context is part of the tool, not decoration around it: a result read without it can be numerically correct and still wrong for your problem.

No account is required and no fee is charged. Calculations execute in your browser. Nothing you enter is transmitted to us unless you deliberately send it — by submitting the contact form, sharing an encoded link, or uploading an exported project file somewhere.

Licence to use

You may use the tools for personal study, coursework, teaching, professional reference, and commercial engineering work, including work you are paid for. You may share links to any page. You may export results and incorporate them into your own documents.

You may not:

  • Republish the site's written engineering material — theory sections, worked examples, guides, or reference text — as your own or as the substantial content of another site.
  • Scrape the site systematically or at a rate that degrades it for other users.
  • Represent output from these tools as certified, stamped, or professionally sealed engineering work.
  • Remove, obscure, or misattribute the assumptions, limitations, and source references published alongside a calculation.
  • Attempt to interfere with the site's operation, or use it to distribute malware or unlawful material.

Accuracy and verification

The calculation engines are covered by an automated test suite that checks results against worked values from standard engineering and physics references rather than against the code's own output. That reduces the rate of errors. It does not eliminate them, and it cannot catch a model applied outside the conditions it was written for.

You are responsible for validating inputs, units, equations, assumptions, and results against authoritative references and applicable standards before acting on them. Where a tool's stated assumptions do not match your situation, its output does not apply to your situation, whether or not it returns a plausible-looking number. If you find an error, pleasereport it — corrections go directly to the person who maintains the code.

No warranty

The website and its calculations are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including accuracy, completeness, fitness for a particular purpose, availability, uninterrupted operation, or non-infringement. Tools may be changed, replaced, or withdrawn without notice, and results may change between versions as models are corrected or refined.

Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Neutron Studios LLC is not liable for any loss, damage, cost, or claim arising from use of the site or reliance on its output, including design errors, project losses, equipment damage, regulatory non-compliance, personal injury, or lost data. This allocation of risk is the basis on which the tools are offered without charge. Your own data

Tool state, saved projects, and preferences are stored in your browser's local storage and can be cleared at any time through your browser settings or a tool's Reset control. Browser storage is not a backup: it can be cleared by the browser, lost when a device is replaced, or invalidated by a tool version change. Export anything you need to keep. Encoded share links are readable by anyone who receives them, so treat them as public. See theprivacy policy for what is and is not collected.

Intellectual property

The site's code, written engineering material, interface, and branding belong toNeutron Studios LLC unless stated otherwise. Third-party data, standards, and reference works cited on tool pages belong to their respective owners and are cited, not reproduced. Where a tool incorporates externally licensed material, that licence is included in the repository and named on the relevant page.

Advertising

The site is supported in part by advertising so the tools can remain free and account-free. Advertisements are labelled and are not engineering output, recommendations, or a required step in any calculation. Advertising is not permitted adjacent to calculation controls or inside result panels. Advertiser data practices are described in theprivacy policy; we do not control advertiser content and do not endorse it.

Changes to these terms

These terms may be updated as the site changes. The date at the top reflects the most recent revision. Continued use after a revision means you accept the revised terms.
